While many of us were looking up yesterday, others were watching the electric grid to monitor its response as solar power throughout the region declined on schedule and storage helped fill its needs. As we make progress toward 2050 net zero goals, storage is going to play an increasingly important role in balancing the electric grid, and we're excited to be part of that transition!

Learn more about how Green Mountain Power deployed their network of storage to help regulate the grid during this historic event.

We couldn’t transmit renewable energy without electrical engineers. Edith Clarke was the first woman to graduate from MIT with an electrical engineering degree. She then went on to work at GE and eventually to teach electrical engineering at the University of Texas, Austin. In 2015, she was inducted in the National Inventors Hall of Fame. Happy Women’s History Month!

Out of the office and into the field. While traveling for a public hearing this week, our team stopped by an operating wind project to learn more about how a project develops from a design on paper to generating clean electricity. Couldn't ask for a better (or windier!) day! 🌬

@pokharkar_arnav represented Palmer at the annual NECA conference last week: “The cohort struck an excellent balance between seasoned and emerging professionals, offering the exposure I was seeking. Insightful panel discussions on FERC and State orders provided a deep dive into recent Interconnection study developments. Connecting with top-notch professionals in the renewable energy sector was a highlight, gaining valuable insights into our impactful work.”

Our thanks to NECA for another great conference!

@pokharkar_arnav will be attending NECA's Annual Renewables Conference this Thursday.

Interconnection remains a timely topic and he’s looking forward to learning what’s coming.

Renewable energy projects need predictable interconnection study schedules and upgrade costs if we’re going to hit carbon neutrality goals.

Last week, the weather was frightful but meeting with a group of New York landowners to discuss our wind project was delightful! Spending time in the communities we work and getting to know our landowners is always a highlight. We drove the sites, reviewed existing infrastructure, and had a kickoff dinner with our landowners. Over dinner, we answered questions, formed connections, and built enthusiasm for the project. We're excited to be working with great landowners as we expand into New York!
